April Michele Nieves Stanbury is a healer guided by rhythm.

An acupuncturist, herbalist, and lifelong tap dancer, she understands the body as both instrument and storyteller—always speaking, always seeking balance. After nearly a decade living and practicing in New Jersey and New York, she recently moved to Georgia with her family, arriving with open hands and a deep desire to build meaningful community.

Born and raised in Boston, MA, and shaped by her Puerto Rican, African American, and Jewish heritage, April carries a rich tapestry of cultural wisdom into her work. Her love for dance and medicine began at five years old—two paths that have never felt separate. Both require listening. Both ask for presence. Both are acts of devotion.

When her three-year-old daughter once said, “Everybody needs a guide,” April felt the truth of it settle in her bones. To her, healing is not about fixing—it is about guiding. Walking beside you as your body remembers how to soften, regulate, and restore.

April holds a Master’s degree in Chinese Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture and is nationally certified. Her clinical work is grounded in both rigorous training and lived experience, including her own healing journey with menstrual pain, orthopedic injuries, and chronic conditions.

Her practice focuses on stress and pain management, women’s health across all seasons—menstrual cycles, fertility, postpartum, and perimenopause—as well as mental and emotional well-being. Through acupuncture, herbal medicine, and hands-on care, she supports patients in addressing root causes rather than simply managing symptoms. She continues to deepen her studies in fertility, facial acupuncture, and electro-acupuncture, while remaining open and responsive to what each patient brings into her space.

April is also one of the only known practitioners of Shakuju therapy, a gentle, non-invasive Japanese technique. Using a specialized tool called a teishin, along with moxibustion and palpation, this approach works to release deep internal coldness and restore the body’s foundational energy. It is especially supportive for those who are sensitive to needles, have a fear of needles, or are seeking relief from chronic pain, stress, and fatigue—offering a deeply calming alternative to traditional acupuncture.

April creates a space where you can land gently. A space where your nervous system can exhale. Where you are seen, cared for, and supported in tending to yourself—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

If you’ve been feeling out of sync—physically, emotionally, or mentally—this may be your invitation to reconnect. To slow down, be listened to, and receive care that meets you where you are.

Outside the treatment room, she spends her time dancing, cooking, gardening, reading, resting, and dreaming—always listening for the next rhythm.

When you’re ready, April is here to guide you back to balance.
